Building the house on paper

We took two floor plans and had a draftsman merge the two together.  From our online research, we learned that it was best to not buy plans online, especially so that they were up to current codes – including hurricane codes.

After building two houses with a builder, we appreciated being able to move light switches, window placement and creating non-wasted space.  The challenge became if we moved or changed one thing on paper then it changed two other things.  The good news – a large pantry!  An oversized pantry was the result of a hallway to the bedrooms and kids bathroom.  Lots to consider.  If we would not have over analyzed the details, then we could have shortened the timeframe of this process.

It is literally building the house on paper!!!
